ELINA SVITOLINA

Elina Svitolina is the most successful athlete in the history of Ukrainian tennis and a former World No. 3 in the WTA rankings (Women's Tennis Association) in 2017, 2018, and 2019. She won Ukraine’s first-ever Olympic tennis medal — a bronze at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Elina is a semifinalist of the World Championship — the Billie Jean King Cup 2025 — as a member of the Ukrainian national women’s team, an 18-time WTA singles champion, including the prestigious WTA Finals title in 2018, and a three-time Grand Slam semifinalist (2019, 2023).

In 2019, Elina founded the Svitolina Foundation, whose mission is to support young talents and advance the development of tennis and sports in Ukraine. In 2022, upon the invitation of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, she became an ambassador for the United24 fundraising platform and the initiative to return deported Ukrainian children, Bring Kids Back UA.

In October 2022, Elina welcomed her daughter, and by April 2023, she returned to professional tennis. Within the first four months of her comeback, she won a WTA title in Strasbourg, reached the quarterfinals of Roland Garros, defeated the World No. 1, and advanced to the Wimbledon semifinals.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Elina has been actively working for Ukraine’s victory: she serves as a global voice for the country, participates in charity initiatives and fundraising events, supports young athletes, assists the military, and contributes to rebuilding destroyed homes and restoring educational institutions.
